I'm happy to report that I completed my second ever half-marathon, the Dutchess County Classic ,and I ran a personal best of less than 2:09. Over 400 runners finished the Half. Another 70 completed the full marathon, which was 2 loops of the half-marathon course.Overall, it was a great experience in a relaxing country setting.
The weather was great, the course was beautiful (where else can you run and pass cows and horse farms?) and the rolling hills provided for a challenging race.
The only things I didn't enjoy about the race were the lack of medals for half-marathon finishers and the fact that the roads were not closed.
